Wisconsin CLE Requirements
Attorney Requirements
Wisconsin attorneys are required to complete 30 hours of CLE every 2 years. At least 3 hours must be in the area of Ethics or Professional Responsibility. Attorneys must earn the required MCLE credits by December 31st and report by February 2nd each reporting year.
Attorneys may carry over up to 15 hours of CLE credit to the following reporting period.
Newly Admitted Attorneys
Newly admitted attorneys in Wisconsin are exempt from CLE requirements during their initial reporting period.
Online Courses
Wisconsin attorneys must earn at least 15 hours of CLE credit from live events, including live webinars. Attorneys may earn up to 15 CLE credits through online on demand courses (cannot include Ethics).
