Alabama CLE Requirements

Attorney Requirements

Alabama attorneys are required to complete 12 hours of CLE each year. At least 1 hour must be in the area of Ethics or Professionalism. Attorneys must report CLE by December 31st each year.

Attorneys may carryover up to 12 hours of CLE credit to the following year.

Newly Admitted Attorneys

Newly admitted attorneys must complete a 3 hour course on professionalism. Hours earned at this seminar count toward the general 12 hour annual CLE requirement.

Online Courses

No more than six hours (of your required 12.0 CLE credits) may come from online activities. However, live webinars are considered live courses and do not count toward the maximum online credits.
