Texas CLE Requirements
Attorney Requirements
Texas attorneys are required to complete 15 hours of CLE each year. At least 3 hours must be in the areas of Ethics or Professional Responsibility. Attorneys must earn the required MCLE credits within their assigned reporting period.
Attorneys may carryover up to 15 hours of CLE credit to the following year.
Newly Admitted Attorneys
Newly admitted attorneys in Texas must complete their initial 15 hour minimum CLE credits during their first 24 months of admission. New attorneys must also complete the "Justice James A. Baker Guide to Ethics and Professionalism in Texas" course.
Online Courses
Texas attorneys may earn all 15 hours of CLE credit through online on demand courses.
