Vermont CLE Requirements

Attorney Requirements

Vermont attorneys are required to complete 20 hours of CLE every 2 years. At least 2 hours must be in the area of Ethics. Attorneys must earn the required MCLE credits by June 30th and report by June 30th each year.

Attorneys may not carry over credits to the following year.

Newly Admitted Attorneys

Newly admitted attorneys must complete at least 15 CLE credits on Vermont practice and procedure in courses approved by the Board of Continuing Legal Education and certified by the Board of Bar Examiners.

Online Courses

Vermont attorneys must earn at least 10 hours of CLE credit from live events, including live webinars. Attorneys may earn up to 10 CLE credits through online on demand courses.
